With reference to the Italian market, we have considered the data published in Beverfood.com's 'Acquitalia' report, based on company, association and research institute data (2023) in which it is estimated that the consumption of bottled water in Italy is 252 litres per capita/year.
The same report indicates that about 81% of these litres are contained in plastic bottles; calculating that 81% of 252 turns out to be about 204.12 and wanting to round this value down to 200 litres per capita/year in disposable plastic containers, we estimated that this annual consumption corresponds to 400 bottles of 500 ml each.
On the Urban Bottle products (our non-insulated model), under the 24Bottles® logo you will find the number "-0.08", which indicates the amount of Carbon Dioxide (expressed in "kq CO2 eq") emitted in the production of a single 500 ml disposable plastic bottle.
This way you can always remember that when you choose 24Bottles and reuse your water bottle instead of buying yet another disposable plastic bottle - you are avoiding the release of 0.08 kg of CO2 eq into the atmosphere for every filling.
Join our movement for a more sustainable future. Let's adopt good habits together and reduce our impact on the planet. You too can help avoid releasing 32 kg of CO2 eq into the atmosphere each year (0.08 x 400 = 32) by choosing from our CarbonNeutral® water bottles.
